Dr Alan Segal qualified as a dentist in 1972 and for many years his main activity was as a practicing dentist before increasing his involvement in the business elements of what currently forms the Astek Group’s operations.

Dr Segal still retains a private interest in a small goup of dental practices, which act as a test market for the assessment of new product ideas. The Enlarged Group will now be the main strategic focus of Dr Segal’s talents.

Astek Innovations, the Enlarged Group’s operating subsidiary, was incorporated in 2004 and is the result of bringing together into one company the various product related businesses established by Dr Segal. The business now includes trading in self-developed dental products internationally, trading in licensed products in the UK and the production of generic alternatives to popular dental products.
